The SIMBA (Simulation via Instant Messaging for Bedside Application) model is a real-time, simulation-based medical education programme delivered through WhatsApp and Zoom, developed in the UK to address the gap between theoretical knowledge and the confident, practical application of guidelines in acute diabetes care.

Cases are built by combining generative AI with expert clinical input, and the model has been peer-reviewed and shown to be an effective way of disseminating information through interactive cases and individualised feedback for participants.

Notably, this approach has been found to significantly enhance confidence and is perceived as highly relevant for training in acute diabetes management. This session now  brings this proven model to a US audience, using realistic, case-based simulation to strengthen participants' skills and confidence in navigating complex, time-sensitive diabetes presentations.
