English Literature and Drama Stratford Residential 2025

Description

Residential trip open to all second-year students on programmes involving English Literature or Drama components to Stratford-upon-Avon. Ticket and travel costs have been subsidised by the School of English, Drama and Creative Studies and our collaboration with the RSC to reduce the cost for students.

Please note that during the trip we may be filming/taking photographs for future marketing purposes. Please let the organiser know on the day if you do not wish to be filmed/have your photo taken.

Description

The 2025 conference of the Katherine Mansfield Society will re-examine the importance of place in Mansfield’s writings, while also asking: how do we ‘place’ Mansfield today? How do we situate her work in current critical conversations and against new scholarly debates?

There is an option when booking to pay a £5 deposit to confirm attendance at the conference dinner at Chung Ying Cantonese restaurant, Wednesday 2 July.

A collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Northumbria University, the Youth and Horror Research Network is an AHRC-funded, interdisciplinary, international network of scholars, educators and cultural partners, which aims to investigate and impact scholarly and public understandings of the relationship between children, youth and the horror genre.
