This 8-week online CPD certificated programme is hosted by the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham. The Centre is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost research and teaching centres specialising in character and human flourishing. All learners on the CPD programme will receive:

•    A Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues/University of Birmingham certification of attendance.
•    10 core learning hours and 10 additional learning hours of independent, flexible, self-paced study.
•    Downloadable recommended readings and character education teaching resources.
•    Opportunities to engage and meet other learners. 
•    5 optional online live presentations/lectures (where recordings will be made available).

The 15th Annual Conference, 'Character and Vocation', will take place on January 6th – 8th 2027 at Oriel and Magdalen Colleges, University of Oxford.

Conference Aims

The broad aim of the conference is to discuss the concept of 'vocation', investigate the link to moral or professional identity, and explore questions around the connection of vocation to various areas including leadership, moral exemplars, meaningful work, changes in the digital age, and more.

Registration options

Full admission:  Includes conference admission, single accomodation for the evenings of the 6th and 7th January, and full board (including the conference dinner).

Non-resident booking: Includes conference admission, lunches and dinners for the duration of the conference. This does not include accomodation. Please select this option if you will not be staying at the provided accommodation.
