National Astronomy Meeting - Birmingham 2026

Description

The UK’s largest professional astronomy conference returns in 2026
Join leading astronomers and space scientists from across the UK and around the world at the 2026 National Astronomy Meeting (NAM2026), welcoming researchers at every career stage.
Organised by the Royal Astronomical Society and hosted by the University of Birmingham, this flagship conference will bring together up to 1,000 delegates to present new findings, debate key questions, and explore the latest cutting-edge research.

Non-Fellows: If you are not yet Fellow of the RAS, you can register using the Fellows rate and the RAS membership team will then contact you to arrange Fellowship
Fee-Waivers: A limited number of fee waivers are available by prior agreement with the RAS and LOC. If you register using the fee-waiver option, you will be asked to justify your request, and will be contacted to confirm if your registration has been accepted.

NMR Training Workshop 2026: Relaxation Data Analysis

Description

We are delighted to offer a 1-day course (including theory and hands-on practical sessions, laptop required) that focusses on relaxation data analysis using the well-supported software CcpNmr AnalysisDynamics and ChemEx. Standard 15N relaxation data (T1, T2, heteronuclear nOe) as well as more advanced relaxation dispersion and CEST data will be carefully extracted and analysed to learn how to use the software and show how these data should be treated and interpreted to provide accurate insight into the important mechanisms and functions of biomolecules. The course will provide useful practical hints and tips not generally found in text books, with training provided by experts in the field.  Programme Summary :  Session 1: CcpNmr AnalysisDynamics (Dr Vicky Higman, CcpNmr Team). Session 2: ChemEx (Dr Guillaume Bouvignies, ENS Paris). Pre-requisites: To gain the most benefit from the course, exposure to basic 15N relaxation data measurement and analysis of macromolecules as well as hands-on spectrometer experience is desirable. Students will need to bring a laptop pre-loaded with AnalysisDynamics and ChemEx software (laptops not supplied). We look forward to seeing you!

Location:
The Henry Wellcome Building for Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy (HWB-NMR), University of Birmingham, Brailsford Drive, B15 2QU
