UCMMT was initiated in 2008 to stimulate and strengthen scientific collaboration, knowledge and cultural exchange in the mm-wave and terahertz technology community. It has been held annually since, alternating between Europe and China. The Conference has become a unique forum for leading scientists and early career researchers from Europe, China and beyond to share their knowledge in mm-waves and THz sources, devices, systems and applications.

The UCMMT 2026 will be hosted by the University of Birmingham, the birthplace of cavity magnetron and travelling-wave tube. Birmingham is the 2nd largest city in the UK and a transportation hub with direct links to all major UK cities and destinations. The city and the surrounding region were shaped by the 1st Industrial Revolution and today boasts a vibrant base for industry, education and innovation. Within easy reach are many picturesque villages around Shakespeare’s Birthplace and the Cotswolds.
