Somatoform Disorders: a CPD course

This 3 day course will introduce the most common clinical presentations of functional (non-organic) neurological symptoms, ranging from psychogenic movement disorders to non-epileptic attacks.

The diagnosis of somatoform disorders will be explained with focus on the role of clinical examination and neuropsychiatric investigation in assisting the differential diagnosis between dissociation, factitious and malingering. Possible underlying mechanisms will be explained and available management options will be presented.

The course is led by Professor Andrea Cavanna with sessions facilitated by NHS clinicians and specialists in somatoform disorders.

The course will be held over three days on 8th, 9th and 10th May 2017.
